Berklee Summer Concert SeriesNicky Egan
Nicky Egan, originally from Philadelphia, spreads her love for music through a sound that blends elements of soul, R&B, and rock. With her influences ranging from Etta James, Sarah Vaughan, and Janis Joplin to the Beatles, James Brown, and Joe Cocker, Egan drives her performances with memorable songs, young energy, and a positive message. Since Egan formed her band in 2007, they've played throughout the East Coast and have played shows from L.A. to Santa Cruz. They've shared a bill with Boston's Eli "Paperboy" Reed and London's Sam Bradley.
Currently residing in Philadelphia, Egan recently graduated from Berklee with a bachelor's degree in contemporary writing and production. Her band is entertaining crowds between Philadelphia and Boston in venues such as World Cafe Live, the Tin Angel, NYC's S.O.B.'s, Le Poisson Rouge, the Lizard Lounge, and House of Blues Boston. Egan released her debut album, a 12-song LP produced by Egan and bandmate Johnny Simon Jr., January 7, 2011. The album, Good People, embraces a collection of soul, pop, and R&B.
