Berklee Summer Concert SeriesNikolas Anadolis Trio
The Nikolas Anadolis Trio is a group of three extraordinary musicians from all over the world. The leader and composer of all the material is 19-year-old virtuoso Nikolas Anadolis, who hails from Thessaloniki, Greece. Joining him are bass player Hoo Kim from Seoul, Korea, and drummer Angelo Spampinato, from Berkeley, California. They are all Berklee scholarship recipients. The trio has played at such places as the BeanTown Jazz Festival, and the Berklee Performance Center, to name a few. Such diverse backgrounds lead to a unique style of music you can't hear anywhere else.
Nikolas Anadolis started to play the piano and improvise starting at the age of four. Since arriving at Berklee, Anadolis has performed at the Blue Note in New York, the Umbria Jazz Festival, the 10th European Jazz Festival in Athens, and the Jazz Au Chellah Festival in Morocco, and most recently won first prize at the Martial Solal Jazz Piano competition in France.
Angelo Spampinato is a 21-year-old drummer from with 9 years of experience in all genres of music. He is more than able to work in all types of professional music environments. Before beginning his studies at Berklee in 2008, he had already studied/performed with Frank Martin, Benny Green, Mike Clark, Mic Gillette, John Santos, and Alan Hall among many others at famous venues such as the BeanTown Jazz Festival, the Lafayette Jazz Festival, and the Berklee Performance Center. Since being awarded a generous scholarship to Berklee, Spampinato has been living in Boston, Massachusetts where he continues to expand his musical horizons and develop a unique sound.
