This bass clinic will cover some rhythmic aspects and how to work with the rhythm section, mainly oriented to Latin music. Also covered will be bass technique exercises, scales, arpeggios, improvisation, study plan, and phrases for comping tumbaos. Some examples use original compositions and may include a traditional standard tune. 

The clinic will feature Ramon Vazquez, bass; Alain Mallet, piano; Carlos Averhoff Jr., saxophone; Yoron Israel, drums.

Ramon Vazquez Martirena, bassist, composer, recording artist, arranger, and producer, was born in the Cuban province of Matanzas. He has worked with a great number of pop, jazz, and classical artists in and out of Puerto Rico, enabling him to become one of the most sought-after bassist in the local industry. He's had the gratifying opportunity to work with some of the great performers of popular music, such as El Gran Combo de Puerto Rico, Olga Tañon, Tony Vega, Enrique Iglesias, Eddie Santiago, Jerry Rivera, Lissette, Lucecita Benitez, Danny Rivera, Gina Maria Hidalgo, Yehuda Glantz, José Nogueras, Andy Montañez, and Wilkins. Vasquez also has on his musical résumé performances with the Costa Rica National Symphony Orchestra, Puerto Rico National Symphony Orchestra, and the San Juan Pop Orchestra. He has also participated in dozens of recordings, including Olga Tañon's Grammy Award–winning album Olga Viva, Viva Olga.

He has had the opportunity to play with some of the best names in jazz and Latin jazz, including Chick Corea, Justo Almario, Hilton Ruiz, Paquito D'Rivera, Giovanni Hidalgo, Dave Samuels, Emil Richards, Horacio "El Negro" Hernandez, David Sanchez, Nestor Torres, Dave Valentin, Marco Pignataro, Richie Flores, and Miguel Zenón.
