This concert is a tribute to percussionist Sa Davis, a member of Berklee's percussion faculty since 1992 and an innovator of hand-drumming technique who passed away on August 25, 2010 at the age of 56.

Known for incorporating percussion styles from around the world into a range of more well-known genres, Davis performed with a host of music greats, including Billy Cobham, Tom Scott, Grover Washington Jr., Freddie Hubbard, and Lalah Hathaway.

This concert will celebrate this diverse and rich scope of musical styles, as well as Davis's personal influences within the lives of his colleagues at Berklee and throughout the Boston community at large. Featured artists will include Dean Anderson, Leonard Brown, Eugie Castrillo, Armstead Christian, Kenwood Dennard, Ernesto Diaz, Tim Engles, Joe Galeota, Yoron Israel, Bill Lowe, Bill Pierce, Syd Smart, and others.
