New Brew Lunchtime Concerts: Mario Jose
The Red Room presents the New Brew Lunchtime Concert Series. Every Tuesday and Thursday, Berklee students, staff, or faculty help you either slow down or power up for the afternoon. Concerts are free, all-ages, and open to the public. Bring your lunch, snag a coffee, and grab a seat for our New Brew performances-they're good for the soul. Today's featured artist is Mario Jose.
Jose is a San Francisco Bay Area native and a vocal performance major here at Berklee. Since his arrival in the fall of 2008, Jose has performed all over Boston. He is in "Pitch Slapped," a student-run a cappella group that took second place in the International Championship of Collegiate A Cappella (2010) and performed at the prestigious Lincoln Center.
He has also performed in Maggie Scott's Vocal Jazz series, Berklee's New Music Festival, Berklee's Pop/Rock Showcase, and numerous Berklee Performance Center concerts with visiting artists including Philip Bailey and Patrice Rushen. He is a three-time performer at Singers Showcase, where he has shared the stage with Ben E. King, Paula Cole, and Lalah Hathaway, and will be performing in this fall's event paying tribute to Abbey Road.
