Emily Elbert / The Boston Boys / Julia Easterlin

Emily Elbert will be releasing her second album, Proof, with special guests the Boston Boys and Julia Easterlin.

Raised in Texas on a musical diet of Antonio Carlos Jobim, James Taylor, and '60s radio, 21-year-old Emily Elbert first fell in love with guitar when she was 15. She set her sights on Berklee and won numerous awards, including a coveted spot in the Gibson/Baldwin Grammy Foundation's jazz ensemble. The Berklee junior has now played over 350 shows, from Alaska to Memphis, Austin to New York, as well as in Scotland, Puerto Rico, and Peru. Named the Best New Artist of 2008 by WUMB-FM in Boston, she is releasing her second album, Proof, this fall. It features Elbert at her best, with strong melodies, straight-to-the-heart vocals, and intricate guitar work.

The Boston Boys is a new band emerging from the hotbed of talented young players in the hip Boston music scene. Featuring singer/songwriter Eric Robertson, all band members are either students at or alumni of the prestigious Berklee College of Music. The Boston Boys sound is contemporary roots-rock, blending reverence for the Beatles and the energy of the Avett Brothers with hints of Appalachian string band music. 

Julia Easterlin weaves jazz, electronic music, and unexpected instruments (such as Scandinavian Tupperware) into performances that have been described as "mesmerizing" and "Ella Fitzgerald meets Stomp." Her current work involves using a looping station to create tracks in front of the audience, incorporating instruments, vocals, hand claps, tongue clicks, and the serendipitous sound events that only a live setting can provide.
