First Night Boston, Berklee College of Music, and 89.7 WGBH present the Lionel Loueke Trio, performing at the Berklee Performance Center on Year's Eve, Friday, December 31, kicking off NPR's annual worldwide broadcast Toast of the Nation. The concert is a centerpiece of this year's First Night Boston festival.

Admission is $18 by purchase of a First Night button. The Lionel Loueke Trio performs two sets: at 8:00 p.m. Eastern Standard Time (NPR broadcast) and 9:30 p.m. Loueke’s performance will be rebroadcast at 3:15 a.m. EST—12:15 a.m. Pacific—for revelers in the Western time zones.

Virtuoso jazz pianist Takeshi Ohbayashi performs the first set of the evening at 6:30 p.m. Ohbayashi, a 2010 Berklee graduate, leads a group of current Berklee students that includes Hailey Niswanger on saxophones, Aaron Darrell on bass, and Mark Whitfield Jr. on drums. New Year's Eve 2010 marks the seventh consecutive year that Berklee, 89.7 WGBH, and NPR have collaborated to kick off the live holiday special Toast of the Nation. Heard on more than 200 NPR affiliate stations and NPR Worldwide, Toast of the Nation begins in Boston and will move across the country.

The Hynes Auditorium Garage will provide a $7 discounted parking rate if the garage's ticket is presented with a BPC parking validation stamp after the concert. The Hynes Auditorium Garage is located at 50 Dalton Street, Boston. The discounted rate applies to cars entering the garage after 5:00 p.m.
