Jetro da Silva presents a clinic for the Five-Week Summer Performance Program all about playing music, interacting with people, doing business, and getting the "call back."
Da Silva will share some tips on what one should and should not do in order to became a successful musician in today's music business. The content of this clinic is based on his experience working with artists including Whitney Houston; Jamie Foxx; Patti LaBelle; Andraé Crouch; Earth, Wind & Fire; Chaka Khan; Sheila E.; Bonnie Raitt; Stevie Wonder; Celine Dion; and many others.
Jetro da Silva was keyboard player and sometime acoustic guitarist in the Whitney Houston band. Da Silva started at Berklee as an administrator, but the time came when he moved from signing papers and designing courses to professor, where he has more opportunity to engage with the students. "That was the greatest decision I ever made. It's been great to watch the students' development and to meet great, talented musicians," he says.
Da Silva has a bachelor's of music degree from Berklee College of Music and a master of arts degree from Andover Newton Theological School. He is presently a Ph.D. candidate in theology and religious studies at Liverpool Hope University/Liverpool University.
