Lijie

Lijie performs as part of he Heck Room Music Series, is a monthly concert series featuring Berklee's top acoustic performers.

Born in China and raised in the west coast, Lijie's music "is a sublime blend of delicate pianos and guitars paired with her intoxicating voice" (musicshopper.com). Her songs have been recognized at the 2004, 2005, 2006, and 2009 UK Songwriting Contests, and her music has been placed in various independent film projects and documentaries.

Lijie's first instrument was the piano, she later picked up the guitar during her time at college when a roommate brought a guitar into their room. Though rational voices told her to pursue a more stable career, Lijie followed her heart and chose music. She says, "Music is the greatest thing. People need music. It's something no one can take away from you. Everyone's experience and connection with a song is different, and my dream is to connect with people worldwide through music."
