Born in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, 23-year-old songwriter, composer, actress, and singer Tais Alvarenga is a Berklee film scoring graduate. Her biggest influences are Elis Regina, Sara Tavares, Chico Buarque, and Lenine and Richard Bona.

Alvarenga started working in a recording studio when she was just 10 years old. She has since worked as an actress, dancer, and second director, as well as a backing vocalist for famous Brazilian composers and singers Jair Rodrigues, Oswaldo Montenegro, and Nando Reis.
