Joe Hunt has been a faculty member at Berklee for many years. He is teaching in the Berklee Percussion Department for this spring term. He is currently a faculty at New England Conservatory, where he teaches ensemble. Hunt was the drummer with George Russell sextet from 1960-62. He was with Stan Getz quartet from 1964-65, Gary Burton quartet from 1965-66, and with the Bill Evans trio from 1966-67. He's recorded and played with Jim Hall, Dave Baker, Don Ellis, Eric Dolphy, Bob Brookmeyer, Phil Woods, Gary McFarland, Herb Pomeroy, and many others. Hunt recently performed at the Tel- Aviv Jazz Festival with Don Friedman, Chuck Israels, and Gary Smulyan.

The Joe Hunt Trio has been together more than a year and plays regularly, every fourth Sunday evening at the Lily Pad in Cambridge. The trio is dedicated to interactive improvisation in the spirt of the early Bill Evans trios. Members of his trio are:
