Play in the Black Box is the first series at the Arsenal Center for the Arts featuring Berklee students—an intimate and personal experience for every concertgoer. Folk singer/songwriter Liz Longley will perform music from her new album Somewhere in the Middle.

Longley is rapidly racking up the accolades. In 2009, she won the 2009 Rocky Mountain Folks Festival's Songwriters Showcase, and was a finalist in both the Kerrville and Falcon Ridge folk festivals' up-and-coming artist competitions. At Berklee, her song "Rush" won the 2009 Songwriting Competition; the year before, she had placed second. She was selected to represent Berklee at the annual Kennedy Center Conservatory Project in Washington, D.C. To top it off, this past year, Berklee awarded Longley its highest honor for songwriting, the Scott Benson Scholarship.
