Looking for indoor entertainment for the family in December? Current Berklee students will perform holiday-inspired concerts at the Prudential Center the week of December 13. The inaugural show features fiddler Ivonne Hernandez and songwriter Liz Longley.
12:00 p.m. - Ivonne Hernandez
Ivonne Hernandez has mastered Canada's traditional fiddle music. She embodies the country's 21st-century multiculturalism, and her music reflects the new century's marriage of cultural influences. She is a current Berklee student and will be finishing her studies at Berklee this December.
2:00 p.m. - Liz Longley
Berklee awarded Liz Longley their highest honor for songwriting, the Scott Benson Scholarship, and "Rush" was chosen as the No. 1 song in Berklee's 2009 Songwriting Competition. The previous year, "Whatever Goes Up" was the No. 2 song in the contest. "Whatever Goes Up" also received high marks in Garageband.com's folk category, garnering the all-time No. 1 spot for best melody and best lyrics. Longley was recently selected by Berklee to represent the school at the annual Kennedy Center Conservatory Project in Washington, D.C.
