The Swell Season is Glen Hansard (from the Irish band the Frames) and Marketa Irglova (classically trained Czech pianist and vocalist). Musicians that have accompanied them on tour include Thomas Bartlett (keyboard), Rob Bochnik (guitar), John Carney (bass guitar), Joseph Doyle (bass), Bertrand Galen (cello), Graham Hopkins (drums), Colm Mac Con Iomaire (violin), and Marja Tuhkanen (violin).
