Using the synthophone (all digital saxophone) Randy Felts will present examples of the huge world of new sounds available to the contemporary saxophonist. Learn how you can use this new instrument to control sounds from MIDI sound modules, keyboard, or from within your laptop computer. Come hear your sax as a string section, a drum kit, a Take 6-type vocal ensemble, or an entire band. Randy Felts is an associate professor in the Harmony Department at Berklee College of Music and a veteran saxophonist. He is the music director for Harvey Robbins's Royalty of Rock 'n' Roll concert series and the U.S. representative of Softwind Instruments (makers of the synthophone). He performs regularly in the New England area in a wide variety of settings.
