Friends of the Clarinet

Wednesday, February 18, 2009 - 6:30pm
David Friend Recital Hall
921 Boylston Street
Boston, MA, 02115

Friends of the Clarinet will present two major works for the clarinet: Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart's Clarinet Quintet in A Major, K. 581, and Béla Bartók's Contrasts for Violin, Clarinet, and Piano. Both works demonstrate the great maturity of the composers and explore new techniques for the clarinet with respect to tone-quality, meter, and rhythm. The performers include three Berklee faculty members—Peter Cokkinias, clarinet; Colin Belise, viola; Kari Juusela, cello; as well as Peter Krysa and Adele Ohki, violin; and Kanako Nishikawa, piano.
