The Lawrence Fields Quartet
Boston MA 02115 [Map]
Widely considered to be one of the finest jazz pianists to come out of Berklee in the last decade, St. Louis native Lawrence Fields brings three of his favorite musicians to play the Berklee Performance Center on New Year's Eve. Although just graduated, Fields has been working for some time in the bands of star alumni Jeff "Tain" Watts and Terri Lyne Carrington, and has substituted more than once in the Branford Marsalis Quartet.
At Berklee, Fields was the first recipient of the James Williams Scholarship, named for the legendary pianist and beloved Berklee professor. He has led the college's top touring small group, the Berklee Monterey Quartet, in concerts on both coasts, and for XM Radio.
