Music for robots, gamelan, and other Western instruments by members of Gamelan Galak Tika and Ensemble Robot, presented by faculty member Ramon Castillo. Our sound mixes Balinese music, rock, jazz, funk, musique concrète, and ambient electronica. We are the only collaboration of Balinese Ggmelan and musical robots anywhere. This concert features a collaboration between Gamelan Galak Tika and Ensemble Robot, two extremely experimental groups in the Boston area. We will present a concert of new works by group members that feature elements of Balinese gamelan infused with western instrumentalists, electronic sounds, and robotic musicians. The program will include "Agak-Agak" by Ramon Castillo (Berklee faculty), "SSSS" by Midori Matsuo (Berklee student), "Rice Combo" by Po-Chun Wang (Berklee alumnus), "Mars Rover and Snow White" by Christine Southworth, and a new work by Sachi Sato (Berklee alumnus).
