Ralph PetersonImage 1 of 1Grammy Award–nominated drummer, bandleader, and educator Ralph Peterson has been one of the most distinctive drummers in jazz for almost 30 years. He has performed or recorded with a “who’s who” of jazz including Terence Blanchard, Branford Marsalis, Michael Brecker, and Betty Carter, and was the last drummer chosen as a Jazz Messenger by his mentor Art Blakey.
His 16th release as a leader, The Duality Perspective, on his own Onyx Productions music label embodies youth and maturity; past, present, and future; and diverse stylistic approaches based on a common language. This all-star sextet is “richly rooted, one foot in the tradition, the other foot in tomorrow.”
