Guitarist, mandolinist, composer, and arranger Eduardo Mercuri was born in Curitiba, Brazil in 1987. Influenced by his father, he had his first contact with music very early and began playing guitar at age 11. He's studied with Vittor Santos, Osiel Fonseca, Oliver Pellet, Daniel Santiago, Mick Goodrick, Bruce Bartlett, and Steve Rochinski, among others.
Mercuri leads the Jazz Cigano Quintet, the Mercuri Duo, world music groups Omundô and Bayaka, the trio Receita de Samba, and the Eduardo Mercuri Quartet. He has joined the Jazz Revelation Records artist's lineup. He lives in Boston, attends Berklee, and is working on promoting his first solo CD, as well as the first CD for the Jazz Cigano Quintet.
