Sara Mersha (Grassroots International), Vance Gilbert, Horace Small (Union of Minority Neighborhoods), and Paul McLoughlin (Economics of Higher Education, Boston College) speak about community activism.

Sara Mersha is the director of grantmaking and advocacy at Grassroots International. She specializes in issues of climate justice and food sovereignty.

Vance Gilbert is an established and preeminent acoustic artist. He has recorded eight albums, including Side of the Road, a duoi album with friend Ellis Paul. He has toured with Shawn Colvin and the late comedian George Carlin.

Horace Small is executive director of the Union of Minority Neighborhoods. He has been a community organizer, labor organizer, and political campaign operative for 30 years.

Paul McLoughlin is a professor of economics of higher education at Boston College.
