A Reformed Brazilian Cushite with the Berklee String Orchestra

Jetro da Silva will perform with the Berklee String Orchestra directed by Eugene Friesen. The concert will be a combination of various music styles. Da Silva will perform compositions of Ivan Lins, Milton Nascimento, Andrae Crouch, and many others. The concert will be a combination of Brazilian, jazz, and gospel style. Da Silva will celebrate the Afro influence in Brazilian music and the 50-year anniversary of bossa nova. In adddition to the orchestra, he will be joined by faculty members Terri Lyne Carrington on drums; Winston Maccow on bass; Ron Mahdi on bass; Kevin Barry on guitar; Dick Lowell on trumpet; Daniel Ian Smith on saxophone; Robynn Amy on trombone; Fernando Brandao on flute; Ricardo Monzon on percussion; and special guest drummer John Blackwell.
