Chapman University Boston Showcase
Chapman University's Conservatory of Music is taking its show on the road again. After a successful tour of Texas in January, a small group of Chapman vocal majors and faculty are taking the show to Boston for three exclusive ensemble performances, from June 6-8. The program will include highlights from Wolfgang Mozart’s The Marriage of Figaro, Gaetano Donizetti’s Elixir of Love, and Jacques Offenbach’s Tales of Hoffman.
The ensemble will include five vocal performance majors: Daniel Shipley, Alexandra Rupp, Kevin Gino, Kylena Parks, and Andrei Bratkovski. They will be led by Peter Atherton, Chapman’s director of Operatic Studies, and Cheryl Lin Fielding, music director of Opera Chapman. Atherton has performed to acclaim with the Los Angeles Philharmonic, L’Orchestra de la Suisse Romande, Basel Chamber Orchestra, and many others. Fielding is a celebrated pianist whose performances have taken her to Japan, Taiwan, Italy, and throughout the United States, including the Alice Tully Hall at Lincoln Center and Carnegie Hall's Weill Recital Hall.
