Berklee Global Jazz Institute Presents: Concert Series and Jam Session
The Berklee Global Jazz Institute (BGJI) proudly presents a concert and jam session at the Lilypad, at 1353 Cambridge Street, in Cambridge, on Tuesday, October 8, at 6:30 p.m. as part of its concert series.
The first part of the evening will feature a concert presented by the Green and Silver Ensemble of the BGJI. These multicultural ensembles boast participants from all parts of the globe. The second half of the event will be a jam session led by the ensembles. All instruments and levels are welcome to participate.
This is the second installment in a series of concerts and jam sessions. BGJI students will feature original repertoire as well as arranged standards.
The Berklee Global Jazz Institute is a performance program designed to foster creativity and musicianship through various musical disciplines, with pianist and composer Danilo Pérez as its artistic director. The BGJI provides a comprehensive contemporary music environment where students are given opportunities to explore their creativity at the highest level possible, to advance the power of music as a tool for the betterment of society, and to connect musically creative thinking with the natural environment.
The Lilypad houses a small bar and is accessible. The event is free of charge and open to the public.
