2005/2006 Concert Series
Berklee stirs up its musical melting pot for this year's concert series with a sequence of shows that covers the musical gamut from rock and folk to soul and jazz. And the long list of guest artists features some of the most daring performers in music today, including Me'Shell NdegéOcello, Yellowjackets, Lalah Hathaway, Patty Larkin, and Kevin Eubanks. On several nights, those musicians will perform with Berklee students, faculty, or alumni, displaying how Berklee's own can hang with the best of the best.All concerts begin at 8:15 p.m. in the Berklee Performance Center, 136 Massachusetts Avenue, in Boston. Lalah Hathaway

Berklee alumna Lalah Hathaway, the daughter of the great Donny Hathaway, kicks off both the Berklee 20052006 Concert Series and BeanTown Jazz Festival with this concert. Hathaway is a gifted vocalist who specializes in styles jazz, pop, and gospel, and has recorded with Joe Sample, Marcus Miller, and others.

Me'Shell NdegéOcello, whose constantly evolving stylistic repertoire has earned her the reputation as one of the most fearless artists in contemporary music, will play bass with a Berklee student band performing her songbook. The concert is directed by faculty guitarist David Fiuczynski.
