Singer/Songwriter Workshop

Course Number
SW-371
Description

This advanced elective course offers singer-songwriters a valuable opportunity to engage and expand the process of writing and performing their original songs. The course goes beyond the creation of songs, by exploring songs that serve as vehicles for expressing and communicating the songwriter's emotions and narratives to an audience. Throughout the course, students will reinforce the set of tools and techniques developed in the core songwriting major courses. They will refine their skills in effectively performing their original compositions to engage and captivate audiences. Additionally, students will actively participate in facilitated song critiques, benefiting from collaborative discussions and insights provided by their peers. The course strives to provide a supportive environment for singer-songwriters to expand their creative abilities, deepen their understanding of the songwriting process, and refine their performance skills.

This course is required to take the Songwriting/Performer focused Senior Seminar and Directed Study.
