Berklee in the Classroom: Music Education

Berklee's Music Education Department offers students the skills necessary to teach music in a variety of roles, such as a K-12 music teacher, private instructor, or ensemble conductor. Music education majors use these skills in actual field experiences, including a student teaching practicum for one semester in a public school environment. In Elementary Classroom Methods, professor Charlene Ryan models teaching methods for young children and then gives students hands-on experience leading a free Berklee educational music program for preschoolers. Watch the videos below to experience the class and meet Ryan, chair Cecil Adderley, and four students.
