Berklee in the Classroom: Music Production & Engineering
What does it take to record a track that will have an impact on the music of today? Well, if you enroll at Berklee, get accepted into the MP&E major, and take Music Production for Records, MP-320, you're off to a good start. Our video team spent a day in the studio as Prince Charles Alexander, associate professor of music production and engineering, mentored several students on their final projects. Watch the six videos to learn how Alexander, who has worked with artists such as Mary J. Blige, Sean "Puffy" Combs, and Destiny's Child, guides his students through the process of making a record good enough to compete with current chart-topping music. You'll also hear from Rob Jaczko, chair of music production and engineering, and view profiles of three student producers.
