Sara Regan, C&AC Director/Mental Health Counselor
Sara grew up in western New York but now considers Boston "home." She has a B.A. in music from Baldwin-Wallace College in Berea, Ohio, where she studied music therapy and played the oboe as her primary instrument. After completing her coursework, Sara came to Boston for a music therapy internship and worked as a registered music therapist for several years.
Sara earned an M.S. in counseling psychology at Northeastern University while working for the college as a resident director. She is a licensed mental health counselor and has worked in hospitals, schools, outpatient clinics and colleges. She has been at Berklee since 1998 and director of the C&AC since April 2001.
Suzanne M. Slattery, Ph.D., Clinical Supervisor
Suzanne is a licensed psychologist with a doctorate in counseling psychology from Boston College. She did her undergraduate work at Wheaton College in Massachusetts and obtained her Master's degree in counseling from the University of Oregon in Eugene. Suzanne has several years experience working in college counseling as well as in hospital, community and school settings. She lived in Melbourne, Australia for five years working as a psychologist doing art therapy, family therapy, and individual counseling.
Suzanne has a great appreciation for cultural diversity, music, nature and the arts. She has traveled throughout Europe, Australia, New Zealand, and Southeast Asia. She is very happy to be at Berklee working with a team of highly skilled and dedicated counselors and staff and providing support to students and their families.
Karen Grimes, Counselor/Clinical Training Coordinator
Karen was born and raised in Boston. She has a great love for music, and has acted and sung in several college and community theater productions. She completed her first year of college at Emerson, majoring in theater education. In 1992, she graduated from the University of Maine at Farmington with a B.S. in rehabilitation services. After receiving her undergraduate degree, she worked in a variety of settings, including outpatient substance abuse counseling, as program director for an adult day program for persons with mental illness and as an inpatient therapist for persons with an eating disorder.
She obtained her M.A. in counseling psychology at Lesley University in Cambridge, Massachusetts, and is a licensed mental health counselor. Her responsibilities at the C&AC include personal counseling, academic advising, and working with students with special needs.
Liz Salvucci Bailey, Mental Health Counselor/Wellness Specialist
Liz Bailey was born and raised in Boston and has been a vocalist and pianist since childhood. She wrote and recorded original music with Berklee students and local musicians and performed in a local cover band in the '80s.
In 1981, Liz received her A.S. in business from Bryant College in Rhode Island; she subsequently worked in corporate America for 20 years while pursuing music, then pursued the art of counseling. In 1996, she received her self-designed bachelor's in transpersonal psychology and in 1998, her M.A. in counseling psychology, both from Lesley University in Cambridge, Massachusetts. Liz has also been a yoga teacher and private practice therapist since 1996, and is certified in a variety of body-mind therapies. She is a licensed mental health counselor, has been a therapist and staff mentor in community mental health agencies, and has taught workshops in self-care and stress management to agencies, including the Department of Social Services.
Liz came to the C&AC as a counselor during her internship. Since then, she has provided additional support for the C&AC, and is now a permanent part of the personal counseling staff. Liz is happy to assist students with their academic and personal counseling needs, as well as offer a focus on the creative and spiritual self, wellness and self-care, and the body-mind connection. Liz also leads the Meditation Group for the Berklee community
Sandra Iannuzzi, Academic Advising Coordinator/Mental Health Counselor
Sandra graduated from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, with a bachelor's of science in education. She began her career at Berklee in 1989 in the Housing Office. In 1993 she moved to the Music Synthesis Department, serving as assistant to the chair. She came to the C&AC in 1995 and has been there ever since in myriad positions, most recently as academic advising coordinator. As a result of working so closely with students in the C&AC, Sandra decided to go back to college to pursue an advanced degree in mental health counseling. She received her master's of education in counseling and psychology in July 2004.
