Prospective Students/Parents
Transitioning from high school to college can be a challenging time for any student.
Students with disabilities, and their parents, may find these challenges to be magnified.
Being as prepared as you can—for both students and parents—is essential to a smooth transition
to Berklee. There are many differences between the
accommodation
procedures in high school and in postsecondary education. Among these are documentation
requirements, the shift to self-identification and self-advocacy, and the specific rights and
responsibilities of the student and of the college.
We understand that you may feel uncertain, and have compiled the following information to assist you.
Please do not hesitate to contact disability
services staff if you have
further questions or concerns.
