- Four-time Emmy Award-winning composer
- Performances by the Los Angeles and Czech Philharmonics, Orchestra of St. Luke’s, Houston, National, Detroit, and Prague Symphonies, and American Composers Orchestra
- Recent multimedia work, Ask Your Mama, written for Jessye Norman and the Roots, premiered to a sold-out house at Carnegie Hall, which commissioned it, and debuted in L.A. at the Hollywood Bowl
- Has written scores for Steven Spielberg, PBS, the Smithsonian, documentarian Barbara Koppel, and the Chinese government (for which she received an Annie Award nomination)
- Wrote video game music for Sony Online Entertainment, where she was a resident orchestral composer, winning a GANG Award
- Received the American Academy of Arts and Letters’ Ives Fellowship and several ASCAP and Meet the Composer awards
- Residencies at Tanglewood and the MacDowell Colony, and was among the first Sundance Institute Fellows
- Attended the Aspen Music School and L' Ecole des Arts Americaines
- Graduated magna cum laude from the University of Michigan
- Received doctorate from the Juilliard School
- UCLA faculty and guest composer of the Juilliard Composition Forum
