A Message to the Class of 2009

Dear Graduate:

Congratulations on your graduation this May! You've now joined the impressive roster of Berklee alumni, and in welcoming you, I would like to take a quick moment to share a few services that the college provides to alumni.

To date, we have approximately 13,000 alumni using the online services. Use of the alumni website has dramatically increased, and more graduates are taking advantage of the alumni directory, the employment and performance listings, Berklee Today online, alumni notes, alumni event listings, gig listings, message boards, alumni discounts, and news and information regarding the college.

As we continue to build Berklee's online presence, we urge you to become involved. Exciting initiatives such as Berkleemusic.com and the alumni grant program have provided additional resources to graduates, and more plans are forthcoming.

The college continues to be committed to providing more services to our alumni, and by staying connected to Berklee, you will see the benefits firsthand. We know the importance of networking in this industry. Two great ways to stay connected to the college and the alumni community are through the alumni publication, Berklee Today, and through our domestic and international alumni chapters.

The Office of Alumni Affairs continues to promote alumni activities and hosts more than 80 alumni events annually. Recent events have included Opportunities in the Film and TV World; Getting Paid to Play; How Music Gets out of the Clubs and into the Press; alumni receptions during AES, NAMM and GDC; and alumni showcases.

As a Berklee graduate, I urge you to begin thinking about how our office can assist your future endeavors. The Berklee alumni community is more than 43,000 strong, and we look forward to helping you continue your relationships with each other and with the college. Feel free to contact me directly at 617 747-2449 or stop by my office in room 6S on the sixth floor of the 1140 Boylston Street building.

Congratulations once again,

Karen A. Bell '90
