Graduation Guide: A Message from the Director of Alumni Affairs
I would like to congratulate you on your upcoming graduation this May and introduce myself as the Director of Alumni Affairs at Berklee. In a few months you will be joining the impressive roster of Berklee alumni, and in welcoming you, I would like to take a quick moment to share a few services that the college provides to alumni.
Several years ago the college introduced lifetime e-mail accounts for all alumni, and to date we have approximately 8,000 alumni using the service. In addition, usage of the alumni web site has dramatically increased and more graduates are taking advantage of the employment and performance listings, Berklee Today online, alumni notes, alumni event listings, gig listings, message boards, alumni discounts, and news and information regarding the college.
As we continue to build Berklee's online presence, we urge you to become involved. Exciting initiatives such as www.berkleemusic.com and the alumni grant program have provided additional resources to graduates, and more advances are forthcoming.
The college continues to be committed to providing more services to our alumni, and by staying connected to Berklee you will see the benefits firsthand. We all know the importance of networking in this industry and a great way to stay connected with friends, the college, and the alumni community is through the alumni publication, Berklee Today. Or, if you decide to leave Boston after graduation, stay connected through our domestic and international alumni chapters.
The Office of Alumni Affairs continues to promote alumni activities and hosts over 60 alumni events per year. Recent events have included Opportunities in the Film and TV World, AES and IAJE alumni receptions, How Music Gets Out of the Clubs and Into the Press, Alumni Showcase, and many others.
As you prepare for post-graduation plans, I urge you to begin thinking about how our office can assist your future endeavors. Please feel free to contact me directly at 617-747-2449 or stop by my office in room 6A on the 6th floor of the 1140 Boylston Street building.
Congratulations once again,
Adrian Ross '96
