With 30 years of music education programming in the Greater Boston Area, Berklee City Music Boston is an out-of-school, student-centered music and performing arts educational organization with a holistic approach for training musicians and artists by building leaders and fostering community. By encouraging innovation, collaboration, and community, we help young people become confident and well-rounded individuals ready to shape the world.

If you're a fourth- through 12th-grader living in the greater Boston area, Berklee City Music can give you the tools and support you need to reach your fullest potential through theory/musicianship classes, ensembles, one-on-one instruction and mentoring, and performance opportunities. You’ll have access to expert faculty and a comprehensive curriculum in popular and contemporary music.

You’ll not only emerge as a better student and musician, but also as a more confident and well-rounded individual ready to shape your world.

Grades 4-8

City Music Boston Preparatory Academy

Multi-disciplinary instruction for actors, dancers, musicians, or all-around performers in grades 4-8.

Grades 9-12

City Music Boston High School Academy

Multi-disciplinary instruction for grades 9-12 in theory, master classes, and ensembles in genres ranging from rock to jazz, electronica, R&B, and contemporary gospel.

Scholarships

The Berklee City Music Preparatory and High School Academies are scholarship-based, and students accepted to the Academies attend the program at no cost.

City Music students also have the opportunity to receive scholarships to participate in Aspire: Five-Week Music Performance Intensive, with select students going on to obtain full-tuition scholarships to Berklee College of Music.
