Igniting Your Future: The New Generation of Audio Production Careers
October 14, 2014 (7:00 p.m.–9:00 p.m.) in the Loft
Martin Dombey presents the wide range of career tracks for students with audio engineering backgrounds, from recording engineer to remote broadcast audio mixer to pro audio technical writer to audio software designer and beyond. Dombey has advised the Rochester Institute of Technology on its audio engineering curriculum and has been involved in a broad array of audio projects.

Landing Sponsorship and Endorsement Deals

Guest artist Ravi will speak on how to find the right match in sponsors and how to secure desirable artist endorsement deals. He outlines effective marketing proposals and the mutual expectations and responsibilities of both the artist and product manufacturer. Ravi has performed original music on Letterman and Saturday Night Live as well as at Madison Square Garden, the Louisiana Superdome, and the White House. He writes articles on entrepreneurship for magazines such as Electronic Musician.

Social Media Strategies for Musicians
December 4, 2014 (6:00 p.m.–8:00 p.m.) in the Berklee library
Cosponsored by the Learning Center, this presentation will give an overview of social media promotion for musicians. Topics will include which new platforms are most promising, how to get the message out without oversaturating your followers, and time-saving shortcuts for making various platforms work together.
