Highlights from Past Events

2015: New York, New York


The 2015 Berklee City Music Network Summit Master Class was hosted by House of Blues Music Forward Foundation at New York’s Gramercy Theater. Six student ensembles from Network sites Camden Repertory Theater, Phoenix Conservatory of Music, the Philadelphia Clef Club of Jazz and Performing Arts, Boys & Girls Harbor, Tipitina’s Foundation, and City Music Boston performed for clinicians Syreeta Thompson and Mark Gross '88, plus an energetic crowd of Summit attendees. Earlier in the day, each ensemble worked with special guest coaches Alissia Benveniste '14, Mindi Abair '91, Kirk Whalum, Bobby Sanabria '79, Tuffus Zimbabwe '05, and Jody Espina '83 to prepare them for that evening’s performance. 


2014: Los Angeles, California


Over 200 Network members, music educators, and arts advocates came together in Los Angeles to discuss “Innovations in Youth Development,” the theme of this year’s Berklee City Music Network Conference. The 2014 Conference opened with a free outdoor festival in downtown LA to feature youth performers and featured exhibitors, community partners, a drum circle, and an instrument petting zoo.


2013: Memphis, Tennessee


Relive the Berklee City Music Network Conference Master Class that took place on October 28, 2013, at Minglewood Hall in Memphis. The master class featured performances by student ensembles from some of our network sites. Performances were critiqued by guest clinicians Shoshana Bean and Kirk Whalum, as well as music director Rob Lewis.

2011: Boston, Massachusetts


The first annual Berklee City Music Network Conference took place in City Music's hometown of Boston.
