Online Proficiency Assessment Sample Questions
As described in the Orientation section, when students arrive at Berklee they take a series of exams intended to gauge their proficiency in various areas. These exams enable Berklee to determine which levels of arranging, harmony, and ear training are right for you, and helps us to place you in classes with students of similar musical knowledge.
This website provides multimedia sample questions that cover some of the topics found in the Arranging, Ear Training, and Harmony proficiency assessments, as well as the Introduction to Music Technology exam.
Your performance on these questions should not be viewed as a predictor of your first-semester assessment, but as a guide toward preparing for your first-semester course work. Also, please note that the format of the online questions may differ from that found in the actual assessment, and these sample questions are for demonstration purposes only.
