In this example, the clef shown is one of the "C" clefs. This "C" clef is the "tenor clef." Even though the clef is named "tenor clef," it is not the clef in which parts for tenor saxophone are written. The transposed parts for ALL saxophones are normally written in treble clef, no matter how high or low the actual sound. (Tenor clef is occasionally used for cello and trombone in symphonic music.)

The interval of transposition shown in this example is down a minor 3rd. It should be up a major 9th.
