Wheelchair and Accessibility Information

In accordance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and Commonwealth guidelines, the Berklee Performance Center makes every effort to accommodate persons with disabilities.

Entrance

The entrance to the Theater and Box Office is located at 136 Massachusetts Avenue, near the intersection of Boylston Street in Boston. Accessible curb cuts are located at the cross streets on either side of the theater - Boylston Street and Belvidere Street.

The first floor (orchestra level) of the Berklee Performance Center is accessible to people with mobility impairments. There are no steps from the sidewalk in front of the building to the orchestra level inside the theater.

The Balcony sections of the theater can only be accessed using a staircase. There is no elevator or escalator that serves this section of the building.

For elevator access to the William Davis Room reception facility, please ask for the House Manager upon arrival to the theater.

Restrooms

Accessible restrooms are located in the first floor main lobby. A water fountain is located in the same lobby, next to the restrooms.

Parking

The theater does not operate any parking facility. Metered spaces are located on surrounding streets and there are numerous parking garages in the area.

Seating

Wheelchair Accessible Seating
The wheelchair accessible section of the theater is located in the orchestra section at Rows JJ -LL left, right and center. The seating area is made up of movable cushioned chairs, some with armrests and some without. Tickets for this section are reserved for people with disabilities until no two adjacent seats are available for public sale at the given price level. Even then, seats in this section are released sporadically, so there are accessible seats held until all other seats in the theater are sold out. See "Accessible Ticket Purchasing Information" for details on how these seats may be purchased.

Seating with extra aisle room for maneuverability
There is a large cross aisle in front of Row S in the orchestra. A number or these seats are available for sale through regular ticket purchasing means (Box Office, Ticketmaster outlets, phones and internet). A limited number of these seats are held for people who need seats with extra leg room or room to maneuver. These seats are held until no two adjacent seats are available for public sale at the given price level. See "Accessible Ticket Purchasing Information" section for details on how these seats may be purchased.

Seating for persons with visual or hearing impairments
A limited number of tickets in the front side orchestra (Rows A and B) are available for purchase by patrons with visual or hearing impairments. These seats are held until no two adjacent seats are available for public sale at the given price level. See "Accessible Ticket Purchasing Information" section for details on how these seats may be purchased.

Assistive Listening Devices

Listening devices for patrons with hearing impairments are available for all performances to assist with amplification and clarity. A radio-transmitted receiver is attached to a lightweight headset. This device can be used in all sections of the theater.

Use of a listening device is complimentary. Devices are available at the Box Office window or from an usher. A drivers' license, passport or major credit card is required as deposit and will be returned to the patron when the device is returned.

Accessible Ticket Purchasing Information

In an effort to accommodate as many patrons as possible in accessible sections, we limit each order to one accessible seat and one companion seat. Purchase of additional adjacent seats may be permitted, based on availability.

Tickets for patrons requiring accessible seating of any kind are available only through the Berklee Box Office.

Accessible seats may be purchased in one of two ways:

  1. In person at the Box Office with cash, Mastercard or Visa.
    Hours of Operation
    Monday through Saturday 10:00am – 6:00pm
    Closed Sundays and most holidays.

On performance days, the Box Office is open two hours prior to showtime and will remain open one hour after the scheduled start time for the event.

  2. By calling the Box Office Manager at (617) 747-2409.
For these transactions we accept payment by Mastercard or Visa. We can also accept a mailed check if the transaction is completed and the check is received at least two weeks prior to the date of the show. Tickets ordered by phone can either be held at will-call for pick up on the night of the show or they can be mailed out if the customer includes a self-addressed stamped envelope with their check payment. There is no added service charge for these tickets.

Tickets must be purchased; there are no seat reservations. All sales are final. Tickets are non-refundable and cannot be exchanged or replaced.

Information regarding particular needs of individual patrons is very important to us. If it is desired or necessary, patrons may advise us of type of impairment, the size of a wheelchair (if applicable), preference to use our seats or remain in their own chair, etc.

Note: Patrons with special needs may be admitted to the theater prior to the general public. Requests should be made at the Box Office or by asking the usher at the front door.

For further information or general inquiries, please call 617-747-2409.
