2014 was a whirlwind year for rising country star Lindsay EllRolling Stone named her a summer 2014 artist to know. She joined the Band Perry on tour in North America and Europe. She even made her debut at the Grand Ole Opry. Though her talent for playing the guitar and writing songs has helped propel her career forward, Ell also credits her classes at Berklee Online with teaching her valuable lessons. “Your training and talent are the basic seeds to start growing a career. Reaching success requires hard work and commitment. Beyond loving what you do, one of the main keys to making a career in this business is to be incredibly resilient with your inner strength and compass,” she says.

Berklee Online has proven itself as an invaluable resource for touring musicians. While many pursue plans to study at Berklee's Boston campus, being tied to a specific location isn't always practical. For Ell, Berklee Online's ease of access allowed her to get the Berklee experience from the road. "I could literally do it from anywhere in the world," she recalls. Lindsay earned a Master Certificate in Songwriting and Guitar from Berklee Online in 2011.

For aspiring musicians, Lindsay emphasizes the importance of practice and professionalism. "Ensure you are the best you can be to gain respect and fans," she offers. "How you act day to day is a reflection on your band and your music. Show people that you can be counted on to work hard and know the difference between work and play.”
